Houston, Texas - Where Everything is Bigger and Better

Welcome to the Lone Star State - as they say, everything is bigger and better in Texas (minus my hair from the Texas heat, lol)! Get ready to enter wonderland as we head into one of four themed, boutique, Airbnb suites at The Texas Avenue BNB.

Welcome to the only themed Airbnb in all of Houston! My girls and I stayed in the Wonderland Suite, which is inspired by Alice in Wonderland. This space is a converted warehouse turned into a femme vibe, where you are always finding something new and unique every time your turn your head. Whether you're traveling with your girlfriends, planning a bachelorette party, or spending a weekend with your significant other this stay is a must!

From the eclectic decor and furniture to the fully equipped kitchen and fun surprises throughout, this is truly unlike any stay I have experienced. In the middle of the living area is a disco ball which, yes, we would even sleep with on! There is plenty of space to spread out; perfect for any occasion!

Breakfast/Brunch:

The Annie: 1800 Post Oak Blvd, Houston, TX 77056

Brunch at The Annie was an absolute dream. It has an immaculate interior and elegant outdoor seating. We started with a Bellini and Mimosa along with their made from scratch biscuits - the homemade jam was incredible! For breakfast we ordered the French Toast & Buttermilk Pancakes . This space is also perfect if you’re hosting an event such as a baby or bridal shower!

Egghaus: 2042 E T C Jester Blvd, Houston, TX 77008

Let’s taco ‘bout breakfast! I tried some Texas style breakfast tacos for the first time ever, and now I’m obsessed (I officially see what the hype is all about). The breakfast was EGG-cellent from their world renowned dipped croissants, rose and chocolate pictured below, to their speciality coffees such as the rose latte. Make sure to checkout my Houston highlight reel for an up close of all of our dishes!

State Fare: 947 Gessner Rd, Houston, TX 77024

This Brunch Board has me me like *woah! When you visit State Fare make sure to ask them about the Brunch Board because it’s a hidden secret (i.e. not on the menu) that I promise you’ll want to try. Make sure to bring a friend, because it’s bigger than you think! Also, check out the tastiest flight below, perfect for all of you who love trying a little bit of everything!

Electric Feel Good: 2416 Brazos St Ste A, Houston, TX 77006

If you’re looking for a a good time with even better music, a super fun and vibrant atmosphere, and tasty cocktails and treats you’re going to want to add Electric Feel Good to your travel itinerary! I recommend going for Sunday Funday! There are two stories full of fun with a slide upstairs (of course I had to try it out), so many Instagrammable spots, and a dance floor with a live Dj at night .

Lunch:

Proper Rose Garden: 1223 Grand West Blvd, Katy, TX 77449

I’ve got the tea! We had a proper day at Proper Rose Garden enjoying their Proper Rose Garden set which comes with your choice or teapot, sandwiches, and slice of cake! We opted for the Rose Garden Tea (amazing flavors), club sandwiches, and lemon blueberry cake, which was the most delicate, "melt in your mouth" cake I've ever had.

HS Green: 5092 Richmond Ave, Houston, TX 77056

If you're looking for an eat good, feel good restaurant then you will love HS Green where everything is prepared from scratch. They specialize in making healthy taste better. We started with their fresh cold-pressed juices and smoothie and had a vast array of dishes from the prosciutto & arugula pizza to the grilled salmon and kale chicken caesar salad. There's something for everyone on this menu!

Dinner:

Bloom and Bee: 1600 West Loop S, Houston, TX 77027

Viva la bubbles! Located at Houston’s first, and only, Forbes Five ☆ Hotel & Spa you’ll find Bloom and Bee. It is located on the 10 acres of the Post Oak Hotel and is an enchanting dining experience. We had dinner with the tastiest sushi and a rosé sangria. Fun fact: you can explore the many businesses on their property, including Bouchée Patisserie for some tasty macaroons and treats, with your cocktail in hand!

Gatsby Steakhouse: 4319 Montrose Blvd, Houston, TX 77006

The great, Gatsby! If you are looking for a dining experience that is far from unmatched, perfect for a date night or celebration, check out The Gatsby Steakhouse. Their executive chef personally introduced himself and helped curate the tastiest experience! We started off with the seafood tower which comes out on dry ice (have your camera ready). For dinner we had the finest steak with a creamed corn brûlée (a unique must try), lobster macaroni, and whipped potatoes. To top it all off, we tried a vast array of their homemade desserts (red velvet being my fav), which the chef’s daughter helped curate all of the recipes! How neat?!

Moonshine Deck: 1239 W 19th St, Houston, TX

Dinner was groovy! Moonshine Deck has the cutest outdoor seating with swing chairs, pour your own beer wall, and some of the tastiest southern comfort food! I highly recommend the Brisket Nachos to start (so big, so find a friend to share) and the shrimp tacos for dinner. Make sure to try the Strawberry Breeze or Apple Pie cocktail which are made with their homemade moonshine! And if you have a sweet tooth like me, don't skip out on the banana pudding!

Coffee/Tea:

Forth and Nomad: 731 Yale St, Houston, TX 77007

Sometimes it’s just a double shot kind of day (coffee style)! We had so much fun checking out Forth and Nomad where you can do just about anything from shopping sustainable, grabbing a morning cup of coffee and pastry, making your own candle, to even getting a haircut from their barber.

Bếp Tea House: 8300 W Sam Houston Pkwy S Ste 172, Houston, TX 77072

It's time to drown your trouble with bubbles! This was my first time ever (embarrassed to admit) trying boba, and it definitely didn't disappoint! (Below is the magical milk tea.) We also tried the tropical paradise fruit and a coffee milk tea!

Activities:

MYX Blend Bar: 2524 Amherst St, Houston, TX 77005

Ring ring, calling all lipstick lovers! We spent the day MYXing up our own custom lipstick at MYX Blend Bar. Checkout my Houston highlight reel for some behind the scenes on how we created our lipsticks from scratch, and help me choose which color! This place is PERFECT for a girls day, and you can choose from so many different types of lipsticks or even lipglosses. Grab your girls, and you are sure to have a fun and unique day! Are you team lipstick or lipgloss?

FOMO Factory: 5085 Westheimer Rd Ste 4710, Houston, TX 77056

Whether you’re looking to get the ultimate selfie or just have a fun night with your girls, checkout The FOMO Factory! They have endless rooms full of art and fun backdrops to capture some unforgettable moments!

Seismique: 2306 Highway 6 S, Houston, TX 77077

Mirror, mirror, on the wall! My girls and I had the best time at Seismique, an interactive light museum. Pictured below is one of the many special rooms. Make sure to bring your camera to document it!

Where am I jetting off of the runway to next? See you back here soon!

Hanna Rose
